Design of Cooling System of Permanent Magnet Servo Motor
Original language description
Paper presents a surface cooling system of permanent magnet (PM) servo motor M 718 I. This servo motor is de-signed as an enclosed motor cooled by only the natural convection. The main aim of the presented work is to im-prove the motor cooling system. For this purpose, some modifications have been added to the motor original design. Cooling slots are designed on the original frame and radial fan is mounted on the motor shaft. The fan cools the motor by forcing the air inside the frame slots. That is called the surface cooling.
