Comparison between visual and thermovision inspection of PV field
Original language description
The efficiency of the solar photovoltaic system highly depends on the temperature distribution on the photovoltaic module surface. The higher temperature the lower efficiency of photovoltaic conversion because of lowering the module output voltage despite the output current is slightly higher. The second problem of the higher local temperature is higher degradation rate. The monitoring of the temperature allows detecting the anomalies before they become failure Measuring by using IR thermography can bedone without disconnection of whole PV panel.
