Optimization of Mean Absorption Coefficient Bands Quantity
Original language description
The absorption coefficient is the most important quantity governing the radiative energy transfer in thermal plasmas. It is described as function of both frequency of radiation and plasma temperature. The frequency dependence is often quite complicated requiring good spectral resolution and thus slowing down the numerical computation of radiative heat transfer. There is therefore the tendency to approximate the absorption coefficient by mean values in several preselected frequency bands. We try to optimize the selection of frequency bands and its influence on the calculation of radiative energy transfer. The performance of the radiative heat transfer numerical model is used as the metrics for the bands selection evaluation.
