Comparison of RR-intervals in rabbit heart in-vivo, ex-vivo, and under ischemia
Original language description
Changes of RR interval duration in in-vivo heart are compared with those in completely denervated heart and those in denervated ischemic heart. Five New Zealand rabbits were included in the study. In-vivo heart beats almost periodically, with RR intervalclose to 260 ms. Prolongation of RR interval to 350 ms caused by denervation of the heart is statistically significant (alpha = 0.05), as well as subsequent prolongation to 680 ms caused by global ischemia. The heart rhythm remains periodic, even with no presence of nervous system, until global occlusion of perfusion.
