Enhanced Capacity and Safety of Lithium-Ion Accumulators

  • Original language description

This paper is based on a research of negative materials for lithium-ion accumulators. In the research are considered manufacturing methods, which can lead to enhance capacity of lithium-ion accumulators along with improving their safety. In the first part of our research we prepared specific improved materials for negative electrode. These materials should be able to reduce or completely remove the irreversible capacity of lithium-ion accumulators. Electrode materials were made by lithiation process with help of n-butyllithium reagent. In this way prepared materials already contain the lithium ions, the Li, which were intercalated to materials. For experimental purposes were chosen commonly used graphite materials, the natural graphite and expanded graphite. The second part of this study is focused on safety testing of various lithiated materials. These tests were performed on STA i1500 device, this device offers two analyses TG and DCS; analyses are based on the changes of temperature.
