Original language description
The article describes noise measurements using high speed digitizer card for standard PC. The control program for the card was developed using LabVIEW software. The aim of the work was to determine accuracy and limits of the Y-factor measurements with the digitizer card. For comparison, the Y-factor was measured with three alternative devices (i.e. spectrum analyzer, diode power sensor and noise figure analyzer) in the same measurement setup and measured results showed very good agreement. The digitizercard combines advantages of the other devices: good accuracy, spectra visualization, absolute power levels measurement and last but not least it is cost effective compared to spectrum analyzer or noise figure analyzer.
