Study of the changes on the electrode structure at high temperature load by scanning electron microscope
Original language description
One of biggest issues in current Li-Ion accumulators is thermal stability. Some of the active materials are more stable than other but usually materials with high capacity suffer by lower thermal stability. During heating there is not only decomposition of the cathode material but also other parts of the battery such as anode material, binders and electrolytes. From for that reason was tested entire electrode composition contain the cathode material, including the binder and conductive carbon deposited on the aluminum current collector. It was studied structural changes ongoing up to 400°C by scanning electron microscope and changes of elements composition in the electrode by electron dispersion analysis.
