STUDY OF THE ECOLOGY OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES

  • Original language description

In the last decade, the popularity of electric vehicles has grown. Nowadays, there is a wide range of electric vehicles, from small city cars to sports cars to large SUVs. Each new generation increases the total energy of the battery and thus the range of electric vehicles, and today's EVs often reach a range of more than 400km on a single charge. However, with the gradually growing popularity, more and more reports of higher life cycle emissions compared to conventional vehicles began to appear. The aim of this article is to point out the main sources of emissions in the life cycle of an electric vehicle and to compare them with conventional vehicles with internal combustion engines and to determine ecological application of EVs in the Czech Republic.
