The proposal for reduction of regularly monitored consumers in smart metering project Komorany
Original language description
It might be not necessary to regularly monitor every consumer in low voltage smart grid to evaluate the voltage quality but to measure only reduced number of so-called characteristic nodes. Communicating the measured data from these characteristic nodes might be sufficient to assess the voltage quality in the rest of the network. Thus, in this paper, a simple selection method is proposed that should help distribution system operator to select these characteristic nodes. The method should identify possible problems with voltage quality while allowing to cover greater part of the network with voltage measurement preserving similar costs. The possible use of this method can also be identifying of higher priority nodes that should be communicated with better latency compared to other nodes which might be important in busy and off busy hours with lower or higher communication delays. The function of the method is demonstrated on real measurement data from smart metering project Komorany. It is found out that the proposed method success rate is quite far from outstanding, however, it is expected that the method still achieves better results than some random selection approach. The benefit of this method is also that the selection process can be easily automated.
