Angular Power Distribution in 60 GHz Wireless Uplink for Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Scenarios
Original language description
In emerging fifth-generation (5G) networks, millimeter-wave bands will be used. Due to high atmospheric attenuation, the 60 GHz band is planned to be used for indoor and outdoor line-of-sight communication. Numerous uses of this band for vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) connectivity are indicated in the literature. In this paper, we propose a novel method for determining angle-of-arrival power distribution in wireless uplink. In this method, the three-dimensional geometry-based stochastic channel model is used for generating propagation paths. A multi-ellipsoid geometry of this model is based on the synthesized power delay profile obtained in the measurement campaign for the analyzed V2I scenario. Finally, we describe the future directions of mapping environmental influence on the angular power distribution. © 2021 IEEE.
