Testing EMC Properties of High-Speed PLC Adapters

  • Original language description

Power line communication (PLC) is one of the easiest ways to expand a home network. PLC adapters are constantly improving and reaching ever higher transfer rates. A basic PLC network consists of two network adapters. This network can be quickly and easily expanded with additional adapters. Scalability is a major advantage of a PLC network. The network can be expanded using PLC extenders that currently provide LAN connection/connectivity while transmitting WiFi signals. Thanks to these features, it is possible to create hybrid networks reaching high transfer rates. PLC adapters are widely used in home networks. After connections, the PLC adapter is interacting with other devices connected to the power network. It is necessary to know how it influences other devices. The aim of this paper is to analyse the electromagnetic compatibility of TP-LINK TL-WPA8630 KIT AV1300 PLC Adapter Kits.
