Using LoRa Modules to Measure Physical Quantities Describing Air Quality and Their Long-distance Transmission
Original language description
This paper discusses wireless transfer of physical quantities describing air quality, especially in cities with heavy traffic. Specifically, it acquaints readers with the problematics of carbon dioxide, particulate matter, nitrogen oxides measuring, and data transfer via the Lo-RaWAN network. The main goal is to describe specific components of a LoRa system that provides such transmission. This system consists of sensors attached to LoRa modules, which send data to a LoRa gateway every two minutes. The gateway then resends gathered information to a LoRa server where it is converted into a JSON format and sent to an API client. Based on the data evaluation of air quality and traffic situations the smart traffic lights are coordinated.
