Original language description
This contribution presents a highly anisotropic conductive hexagonal unit cell based on an array of cylindrical interconnected rods for mimicking properties of a head tissues to create realistic anisotropic head phantom for electroencephalogram (EEG) source localization. The proposed unit cell requires only a single material to tune its anisotropic ratio in a large range which eases its fabrication in contrary to a layered sandwich unit cell requiring two different materials. The effective electrical conductivities and anisotropic ratios are calculated by numerical simulations in CST Studio Suite. The suitability of unit cells for creation of a white matter or a skull anisotropy are further discussed.
