Original language description
Heat source increase the temperature of the ambient air. To this is proportional its dilation and the corresponding reduction of the light refractive index. Therefore holographic interferometry is utilized for the study of the temperature field in the vicinity of a heat source. The below described method of holographic interferometry allows a quantitative determination of the source of a temperature field in the whole surroundings of an arc discharge which exhibits an axial symmetry.
