Original language description
Paper deals with lossy image compression using separable dyadic wavelet transform. The spatial-frequency components are quatized and coded by an entropy coder or coded by codec based on set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT). The components can also be coded more acurately in some region of interest using SPIHT coder.
