Contemporary operating systems are trying to offer as much flexibility as possible. But still they are far from being perfect. Purpose of this article is to offer idea of another way how to achieve "maximum flexibility" (besides of other gains). Firstly we will speak about actual possibilities touching on their positives and negatives. Then actual proposals for improvements will be explored. Suggested changes are based on viewing OS kernel as a jigsaw puzzle. Consisting of many small parts witth well defined shape, we can assemble any final image the user can request. Let try to transform OS kernel to such pieces and explore possibilities we<br>can obtain. This model is not too far from current modular systems but using fully modular system means new possibilities and perspectives.

Současné operační systémy se snaží nabídnout co možná nejvíc eflexibility. Bohužel stále jsou v tomto směru daleko od ideálního stavu. Cílem článku je nabídnout nový způsob jak dosáhnout maximální flexibility (kromě jiných výhod). Nejdříve se zmíníme o aktuálních možnostech s jejich výhodami i negativy. Poté je čtanář sezámen s vlastním návrhem na změnu architektury. Navrhované změny vycházejí z pohledu na jádro OS jako na puzzle. Sestávajíc se z mnoha malých části s definovaným rozhraním, mohli bychoms takovou arhcitekturou sestavit "libovolný" obraz jádra dle našich potřeb.<br>
