Fast shadows for Lexolights
Original language description
Lexolights is 3D visualization software for CAD systems when high fidelity immersive perception is required. High fidelity visualization is reached by Lexolights shader and shadow engine that evaluates lighting on per-pixel basis. New shadow extension delivers higher performance by utilizing modern computation capabilities of contemporary graphics cards and new robust algorithms for shadow casting based on silhouette edges of scene objects. New algorithms are capable of using various graphics card capabilities such as tessellation shaders that turned out to be one of the fastest approaches. Carefully designed algorithms utilizing vertex shaders provides powerful shadow solution for mobile platforms, such as tables and mobile phones.
