Thin films of organosilicon monomers prepared by plasma polymerization and wet ? chemical process
Original language description
The composite interphase, as a region formed by bonding and reactions between the fiber and the matrix, significantly influences mechanical properties of whole composite system by its ability to transfer stresses from matrix to reinforcements. Glass fibers are surface coated to improve the fiber/matrix adhesion bonding and therefore, to enhance the composite performance. We introduced two different coating techniques into the laboratory. Thin films of organosilicon monomers were deposited by plasma polyymerization and wet-chemical process on planar and fibrous glass substrates. Prepared films were characterized and tested as the interlayer for composite interphases.
