Experimental and Modelling Study of the Nitrogen Kinetics in Active Discharge and Post-Discharge
Original language description
The nitrogen afterglow of a DC discharge was studied by optical emission spectroscopy and the experimental data was compared with modelling results. At p=1000 Pa, experiment exhibits the appearance of the raise in optical emissions characteristic of thepink afterglow when the discharge current increases from 50 to 70 mA. There is indication that the gas temperature may play an important role in a more detailed understanding of the phenomenon.
