COMBINED MACROSCOPIC AND MICROSCOPIC CHARACTERIZATION OF CEMENT PASTE
Original language description
This study represents a multi-scale approach to strength of cement paste, which is the binder for all cementitious materials. For predict macroscopic material strength of cementitious materials from knowledge on their composition and on their degree of hydration. Is promising start with experimental characterization techniques at the finest possible scales (nanometer scales), and to progressively upscale (homogenize) strength via intermediate micro- and meso-scales up to the macroscopic material scale.
