EVALUATION OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF PLASMA POLYMER FILMS USING CONVENTIONAL AND CYCLIC NANOINDENTATION TECHNIQUES
Original language description
Plasma polymer films are important materials with applications in many areas including electronics, magnetic media, optical devices and protective layers of engineering components1. In such developments, good understanding of mechanical properties is essential2. Among other techniques available, nanoindentation is very suitable method for determining mechanical properties of thin films, such as elastic modulus, hardness or stiffness, at submicron levels.
