Original language description
This study was focused on a comparison of growth and production properties of seven red yeast strains of the genus Rhodotorula, Sporobolomyces and Cystofilobasidium cultivated on glycerol substrate. The strains differed in utilization og glycerol and glucose; S.roseus preferred glucose and accumulated glycerol, while other two strains preferred glycerol and produced about 2-3x more biomass and pigments.
