Actual contamination of the Danube and Sava rivers at Belgrade (2013)

  • Original language description

Water and sediment samples from Danube and Sava River in the area of Belgrade have been investigated with complementary analytical approaches. Bulk parameters like TOC or major ion concentrations did not reveal any unusual observation. Also quantification of preselected organic contaminants (neonicotinoid pesticides, hormones) did not point to elevated pollution of the river water. A more significant contamination was measured for heavy metal contents in sediments.
