Photoluminescence characteristics and energy transfer between Eu-Mn of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+/Eu3+, Mn2+ nanostructures
Original language description
In order to study the energy transfer between co-dopant doped in BaMgAl10O17 nanostructures, BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+/Eu3+, Mn2+ nanorods were prepared by chemical method. The crystal structure, morphology and photoluminescence characteristic were demonstrated by X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscopy and photoluminescence spectrometer. The photoluminescence mechanisms were explained by the energy transfer of Eu to Mn ions. The photoluminescence emission of this phosphor nanostructure showed a blueband centered at ~ 450 nm caused by Eu2+ and a green band centered at ~ 520 nm originating from Mn2+; due to the energy transfer from Eu2+ to Mn2+. It is also observed that the increase in excitation energy enhances the energy diffusion between donors, which speed up the average transfer rate to Mn2+ acceptors. Furthermore, the Mn2+ luminescence was regulated with the conversion of Eu2+-Eu3+.
