Original language description
This study focuses on characterization of Saskatoon berries extracts using spectroscopic techniques. Cultivars of Amelanchier alnifolia were extracted in three different solvents (distilled water, 50% ethanol and DMSO) and these extracts were tested by UV-VIS-NIR and EPR spectroscopy. Following parameters were investigated: total polyphenolic content, total anthocyanins content, color characteristics, ferric reducing antioxidant potential and total antioxidant activity using DPPH and ABTS +assays.
