Selected Methods for Determination of Surfactants
Original language description
Surfactants (surface-active agents) are compounds that decrease the surface or interfacial tension. Because of the diversity of the surfactants, specific procedures for group determination have been developed. The concentrations of anionic surfactants in water are routinely determined using the spectrophotometric method. Chromatographic methods can be used to determine individual surfactants. Capillary electrophoresis (CE) can also be used in order to separate and determine specific surfactants.
