The assessment of heavy metal pollution in soil included the determination of heavy metal concentration in soils, calculation of over 20 various pollution indices (single pollution indices - Geoaccumulation Index (Igeo), Enrichment Factor (EF), Contamination factor (CF); total complex indices of soil pollution: Integrated indices of pollution - Integrated Pollution Index (IPI), Pollution Load Index (PLI), Nemerow Pollution Index (PIN), Degree of Contamination (Cdeg), Modified Contamination Factor (mCdeg); and indices of ecological risk (Potential Ecological Risk Index (PERI), Mean ERM Quotient (MERMQ), and Contamination Severity Index (CSI)) and application of multivariate statistical methods.
