The Measurement of collagen and hyaluronan by high-resolution ultrasonic spectroscopy

  • Original language description

Collagen and hyaluronic acid are substances that occur in a large amount in the human body. They are widely used in medicine, cosmetics and food for their specific properties and functions [1]. The aim of this work was to prepare solutions of different concentrations of collagen in ultrapure deionized water and solutions of the same concentrations of collagen as in the first case with a constant concentration of addition of hyaluronan in ultrapure deionized water. Then for prepared solutions ultrasonic velocity was measured using high resolution ultrasound spectroscopy (HR-US) at a constant temperature of 25 ° C. The ultrasonic velocity increases with the increasing concentration of collagen in both prepared concentration ranges. For collagen solutions there is a greater divergence of velocity from the concentration 24 g/dm3 of collagen, which is probably due to the denser behavior of the solutions. Collagen solutions with hyaluronan show rapid increase velocity to concentration 14 g/dm3 of collagen.
