Triplet states in thin films of diketopyrrolopyrrole derivatives
Original language description
This contribution focuses on triplet formation in thin solid films of diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) derivatives. Some of the DPP derivatives have been recently reported to provide triplet formation exceeding 100 %, which make them potentially interesting for applications relying on singlet fission process. The photophysical properties were studied by means of optical and transient absorption spectroscopy and the structure in solid state was analysed using X-ray diffraction. The experimental data were correlated with quantum chemical calculations. The results indicate very strong dependence on intermolecular coupling and thus side chain selection is one of the key factors in order to boost the singlet fission in these systems.
