Physical Hydrogels Modified by Amphiphiles: Rheology as a Tool for Hydrogel Characterization

  • Original language description

Hydrogels are a very interesting and sought material due to their properties and possible applications in several sectors, namely pharmacy, medicine, agriculture, and many others. For several possible applications, their biocompatibility and biodegradability are essential. The most suitable representatives for these conditions are physically crosslinked hydrogels. Which, they, however, lack especially in terms of mechanical properties. For this reason, such hydrogels are often modified. One possibility of modification is the addition of amphiphilic substances that self-organize inside the hydrogel and modify its properties. Rheology appears to be a suitable method for characterizing mechanical properties, however, measuring and evaluating the results obtained while measuring the hydrogel samples is quite difficult. This work tries to describe various tests on these modified hydrogel materials and their evaluation for appropriate and correct descriptions of hydrogel materials. The basic test that will
