Shrinkage and mechanical properties of portland cement with added calcinated clay and limestone
Original language description
In this study a hight kaolinite content clay from Czech Republic - Poštorná was used Calcinating temperature was 700 °C, because this temperature produces a clay with highest reactivity. 30 % of Portland cement was substituted with a mixture of calcinated clay and limestone to from the CEM 22/B-M. The ratios of calcinated clay to limestone were 1:1. 2:1 and 3:1. The influence of the clay addition on the mechanical properties of the cement was studied. Homogenized mixture was placed into moulds with the dimensions 4x4x16 cm. Samples were demounted after 24 h and placed in water. Compressive and flexural strengths were measured at 1, 7, 28 and 90 days. The shrinkage was measured up to 28 days.
