Original language description
Reaction of bis(2-chloroethyl) sulphide and its analogues, i.e.-bis (2-chloroethylthio) alkanes with 8-hydroxychinoline and its use for spectrophotometric detection and determination, based on the coloured reaction product with maximum absorbance at 500nm was studied. The reaction is selective among chemical warfare agents.Some chlorinated products give slight colouration at other wavelengths.
