Persisting Technological Boundaries: Social Interactions, Cognitive Correlations and Polarization (evaluation of an existing article)
Original language description
The presentation addresses the persistence of technological boundaries and examines the role of techniques in promoting polarization between social groups. Field studies in four countries explore the spatial distribution of technological clusters, the maintenance of technological boundaries, and the cognitive biases that contribute to polarization. Ethnographic situations in four countries are examined to understand the conditions under which technological boundaries persist and how differences in craft techniques contribute to polarization. The study employs questionnaires and ethnographic investigations to gather data from different case studies, including Ecuador, India, and Cameroon.
