Purpose: In the financial management there are a lot of approaches to estimate the cost of capital. During the time many criteria were changed influenced by different factors of environment. With advances in economy some methods lost the actuality, the new advantages appeared and some disadvantages were found as well. Nowadays there is no universal and ideal approach to determinate the cost of capital. However many economists try to find such method, which considers many factors as internal and externaland which can be used everywhere. This article is devoted to the analysis of the existed methods, the search of their advantages and disadvantages and the ways of their improvement, which lets make the process of estimation the cost of capital more exact and optimal including external factors of nowadays.
