This contribution is devoted to the issue of leadership and presents results of partial part of empirical research. The main objectives of this part of the research were to identify leadership traits in the Czech environment and their influence on behaviour of subordinate employees in the companies established in the Czech Republic. The sample consisted of total 724 respondents ? managers and their subordinates in the companies operating in the Czech Republic. The main result was the identification anddescription of perceived and expected management style in the Czech environment. The profile of a successful leader was identified as well.
