In the context of a scientific discussion, tourism risk identification with only risks and losses is limited. The analysis of scientific literature allows to specify perception of tourism risk, to identify the most advanced risk evaluation models. With the fast development of tourism in the world, it is important to objectively assess not only Lithuanian tourism sector competitiveness and perspectives, but the risk which is facing tourism industry. The object of the article is economic assessment of tourism risk perception. The aim of the article is to analyze methods of economic risk assessment and to show their adaptation opportunities in the economic assessment of tourism risk perception. Tasks of article is to analyze models of tourism risk assessment and how they can be used in management, for successful development and functioning of this sector. The analysis of various models has shown that they are not very different from one another, but some have disadvantages, because they cannot be adjusted to incoming tourism. A performed analysis of the models of tourism risk assessment has shown that the risk classification of tourism is appropriate to use in a procedural approach, which is related to stages of the tourism product identification. It will be logical to link the risk identification with the provision of tourism services in phases.
