Original language description
The ability of effective connection to ICT infrastructure, the basic infrastructure for information creation, processing and transfer, is one of the key factors of effective participation in the life of the current society. Public administration employees are fingers of the hand of executive power of the state. Their activity and practical skills precondition smooth and problem free operation of the society and hence they should be the most qualified users of modern tools for streamlining their work. The present article summarises the current status of information and communication technology (ICT) in public administration, information literacy of its officials and potential causes thereof. In conclusion, the need for remedy is justified and its positive impact on the effectiveness of office work is outlined.
