The Internet of Things in financial services: Real-time data for smarter asset management and insurance underwriting

  • Original language description

This paper analyses the transformative impact of the Internet of Things (IoT) on financial services, with a particular focus on asset management and insurance underwriting. IoT enables real-time data collection from connected devices, facilitating more responsive, personalised, and data-driven decision-making. The integration of IoT technologies enhances risk assessment, operational efficiency, and customer engagement, while also introducing new challenges related to data quality, privacy, and regulatory compliance. The study concludes that IoT adoption is becoming essential for financial institutions seeking to maintain competitiveness and resilience in a rapidly evolving landscape.
