Cooling of Extruded Plastic Profiles

Original language description

The objective of the presentation is to show practical using of the modeling of extruded plastic profile cooling. Extrusion of real life profile is used as study case. The choice of appropriate boundary conditions will be shown. The presented simulationswill show that in case of the profile the cooling process creates uneven temperatures, which causes deformation of the profile occurring in the water bath outside of the calibrators. By using the model that is based on parallelism with the behavior of bimetallic structures the deformation of the profile will be explained.
