Unusual Mechanical Properties of Injection Molded Parts Reinforced with Short Fibers
Original language description
Short-fiber-reinforced thermoplastics hav been used, e.g. To reach higher characteristics level for the final products. The choice of short-fiber composites yields on one hand some benefits but, on the other hand, it can be accompanied with some problemsas well. The problems are caused by superstructure of injection molded parts connected with distributing and orientating fibers in the mold cavity during the melt flow. The result of injestion molding procces is then an anisotropic and heterogenous product whose mechanical behavior can be considerably different from the behavior of isotropic and homogenous elements. In article there are presented some results obtained by mechanical behavior modeling concerning to the influence of short-fiber orientation on the macromachanical behavior of injection molded parts.
