This contribution is intent on the problems of the evaluation of two competitive building enterprises of a regional significance in the period of a financial crisis and it is a part of the forming dissertation thesis on the topic ,,Modelling the Development of the Middle-Size Building Enterprise Value in the Real Competition of the Czech Republic”. It goes out from the fact that a choice of a suitable method is one of the most important and very essential steps in the process of an evaluation of an enterprise and therefore it is necessary to pay him a considerable attention. It is possible to divide the contribution into two main parts, namely into theoretical and practical ones. While the theoretical part provides us with the survey of the methods used for the enterprise evaluation as well as with the terminology connected with the solved problems in its introductory chapters, the practical part contains the basic data about the examined building enterprises and their evaluations by the property substantial method and the return method DCF entity.
