On the anodizing behaviour of aluminium in citric acid Electrolytes.
Original language description
Anodizing behaviour and porous anodic oxide growth on aluminium in citric acid electrolytes is of considerable interest given by the high formation potentials (exceeding 300 V). In this work we have studied the voltage-time responses during porous anodizing of aluminium foils in 0.05 M citric acid and the impact on the anodizing behavior of various pre-treatments involving thermal annealing, electropolishing and their combination. The findings revealed that the surface morphology and crystal structure of aluminium foils, both being affected by the pre-treatments, greatly impact the anodizing behaviour of aluminium, reflecting the features of pore nucleation and growth at the commencement and steady-state anodizing.
