    The function of prototype is to surround the plasma plume by inert gas and to prevent the access of oxygen from ambient atmosphere to flying molten powder particles and consequently decrease the amount of oxides in the coatings microstructure. The design of the nozzle need to be adapted for specific spraying gun.

    The prototype has two parts to allow their clamping around plasma gun. Nozzle was made by 3D printing from Inconel 718 using EOS 280M machine. Functional areas were machined to ensure perfect sealing between both parts. The prototype function was experimentally proved. All sprayed bond coats revealed no presence of oxides which is the purpose of this device.
