Capability of the stand-off LIBS device equipped with either echelle or Czerny-Turner spectrometer for rocks classification
Original language description
In this work we utilized X-Trace LIBS device (AtomTrace, CZ) equipped with both, echelle and Czerny-Turner, spectrometers for the stand-off analysis (at the distance of 6.5 meters) of various sedimentary rocks. Then the multivariate data analysis (MVDA) algorithms (soft-independent modelling of class analogies, partial least squares discriminant analysis and Kohonen’s self-organizing maps) were applied for the classification of detected echelle and Czerny-Turner spectra. The obtained figure of merits overreached 99% of overall accuracy regardless of the analysis (utilized spectrometer or MVDA algorithm). To compare the sensitivity of both stand-off LIBS system adaptations, the limits of detection in respect to trace elements were estimated.
