The present invention is related to a cooling device (30) for cooling a nozzle (3) of a plasma burner (100), whereby the plasma burner (100) comprises an electrode (2) which ends in or near an opening (22) of the nozzle (3) and a plasma flow channel (23)for guiding plasma gas to the opening (22) of the nozzle (3), wherein the cooling device (30) is arranged around the electrode (2) of the plasma burner (100). Further the invention is related to a plasma burner (100) and a meth-od for cooling a nozzle (3) of a plasma burner (100).
