Distal Radial Approach - The Next Promising Step in an Even More Minimally Invasive Strategy
Original language description
Proximal standard radial approach is now generally recommended over transfemoral access in percutaneous myocardial revascularization. Distal radial approach as a new and perspective approach is accociated with significant reduction of radial artery occlusion as the most often complication of transradial interventions. This article describes advantages, disadvantages and future direction of this new method and also analyzes in detail the results of a new randomized study comparing the proximal and distal radial approach.
