This case report demonstrates successful cardiopulmonary and cerebral resuscitation (CPCR) of a young maleexplored 15 hours following a suicide attempt (carbamazepine intoxication) in deep hypothermia (19°C) with circulatoryarrest. An extracorporeal circuit was used to rewarm the patient?s blood. Weaning from extracorporeal circulation(ECC) was successful and without complications as was recovery from multiorgan dysfunction, severe rhabdomyolysisand carbamazepine intoxication. An excellent outcome was achieved without any neurological defi cit at the time ofdischarge from the hospital.

Uvedená kazuistika demonstruje úspěšnou kardiopulmonální a cerebrální resuscitaci mladého muže nalezeného 15 hodin po sebevražedném pokusu (intoxikace karbamazepinem) v hluboké hypotermii (19 st. C) s oběhovou zástavou. K ohřátí pacienta byl použit mimotělní oběh. Odpojení od mimnotělního oběhu bylo úspěšné a bez komplikací stejně jako zotavení z multiorgánového selhání, těžké ragbdomyolýzy a intoxikace karbamazepinem. Bylo dosaženo výborného výsledku bez neurologického deficitu v době propuštění z nemocnice.
