Background: Crohn?s disease (CD) is a chronic relapsing disease. Especially acute period may be associated withmetabolic disturbances. Alteration of lipid metabolism has been described in critically ill patients and hypocholesterolemiais associated withpoor prognosis. The human organism acquires cholesterol by two principal processes ? synthesisde novo, and absorption from the diet. It is possible to assess, using cholesterol synthesis markers (lathosterol)and cholesterol absorption markers (sitosterol, campesterol) the leading form of cholesterol acquisition.Aim: The aim of this study is assess the association between the lipid profile in plasma and the plasma concentrationof sterols in active CD patients and in control subjects.Method: Routine laboratory tests, CDAI, lipid and non-cholesterol sterols plasma levels were performed on days3, 14 and 28. Metabolismus lipidů u aktivní Crohnovy choroby: předběžné výsledky

Czech description

Úvod: Crohnova choroba (CD) je mimo jiné charakterizována malnutricí. Nutriční deficit je úzce spojen s rozmanitými metabolickými poruchami. Cílem této studie bylo určit, do jaké míry je změněn metabolismus lipidů a proces získávání cholesterolu během akutní fáze Crohnovy choroby. Materiál a metody: Jsou měřeny plasmatické koncentrace celkového, LDL a HDL cholesterolu, triglyceridů a necholesterolových sterolů u pacientů s aktivní CD a porovnávány s kontrolním souborem. Výsledky: Průběžně detekujeme snížené hodnoty u všech sledovaných parametrů. Závěr: Naše předběžné výsledky ukazují na významné abnormality jak v metabolismu cholesterolu tak v obou procesech jeho získávání. Bohužel finální statistické zpracování ještě není k dispozici.
