Dynamic myocardial perfusion SPECT: Prognostic value of myocardial stress blood flow and coronary flow reserve quantification
Original language description
Positron emission tomography (PET) remains the gold standard for measuring myocardial blood flow (MBF) and coronary flow reserve (CFR), but it requires an on-site cyclotron or costly generator for the production of PET perfusion tracers. In recent years, several studies have had good agreement in the calculation of MBF and CFR, confirming the feasibility and reproducibility, as well as good agreement between PET and single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) using dedicated cadmium-zinc-telluride (CZT) tomographic 3 cameras. However, the great disadvantage of the typical dynamic SPECT protocol is its complexity, with a greater radiation burden, cost, and acquisition time. The aim of this study was to compare the prognostic significance of stress (strMBF), CFR, and assess the potential of a strMBF-only protocol.
