From Research to Business. Computer Simulation by System Dynamics
Original language description
An important current issue for modern science is the transferability of the results of scientific work into economic practice. The initial premise of the article is that science should not be an end in itself and must be implemented in order to be truly effective. In this context, the aim is to show the possibilities of the discipline of System Dynamics. Its origin and spread is associated with the MIT in the US. Systemic Dynamics makes it possible to understand the structure and dynamics of complex social systems. System Dynamics modelling tools, especially its stock and flow models, are known as techniques for performing computer simulations. The research question to be solved by the author is: “Is the model of System Dynamics a suitable tool for exploring the transfer of scientific results into practice?” Specifically, the limit of the research is the situation in the Czech Republic in the last 20 years. Research projects related to System Dynamics are examined and their success in real practice is evaluated. Emphasis is placed on research work aimed at the field of business organisations.
